With careful planning old school style.
This year I've added additional raised beds in both the front and back yards, drastically increased my growing space. That means I'll be growing a lot more varieties. But you can't just plug in plants willy nilly. No. You have to take in growth habits, companion plants, etc..
This to-scale layout contains all of my raised beds, barrels, extra large, large, and medium pots along with a couple hanging baskets and deep containers. It takes time to create it and lay out the plants, but it's well worth it when harvest time and succession planting time comes around. Although not set in stone yet (i.e. glued down), I believe I'm happy with the layout. I have about half of my varieties started and the other half are direct sow. With the 3-day weekend coming up, I do believe I'm ready to start planting.
The most important thing at this stage is to KEEP THE CATS OFF THE TABLE!!!
